Art & Bali 2026


Art & Bali returns to Nuanu Creative City from 11–13 September 2026 for its second edition, bringing together galleries, artists, designers and creative practitioners from Bali, Indonesia and further afield.

Presented as a boutique international art fair, this year's programme brings together 22 galleries and more than 300 artists, alongside exhibitions, installations, talks and public programmes. The overarching theme, Bridging Dichotomies, reflects an ambition to connect disciplines, geographies and communities within today's contemporary art landscape.

For visitors, the fair offers an opportunity to look beyond the familiar names of Bali's art scene. Participating spaces include established Bali galleries alongside independent art spaces and galleries from Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Malang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Barcelona and the United States.



Running alongside the fair is What The Body Remembers, a major exhibition bringing together artists, designers and studios from Indonesia and India. Curated by Bandana Tewari with Brina Paska, the exhibition explores the relationship between fashion, craft, material culture, memory and contemporary practice. It remains on view at Nuanu until 29 November.

The opening day also features Nuanu Future Talks: Fashion & Art, bringing artists, designers, collectors and cultural leaders together to discuss the future of creative culture in Asia.

For anyone following the development of Bali's contemporary art scene, Art & Bali 2026 is one to watch.

Kartini Day

Raden Adjeng Kartini was a pioneering Indonesian national heroine known for her dedication to women's rights and education. Born on April 21, 1879, in Jepara, Java, Kartini came from an aristocratic Javanese family, which allowed her access to education. Despite societal restrictions, she developed a strong interest in learning and championed the emancipation of women. Through her letters, later published as Letters of a Javanese Princess, Kartini voiced her progressive thoughts on gender equality, education, and social reform.
